About Us

T21 Families Support Organization (T21 FSO) is a community-driven support network dedicated to advocating, educating, and creating awareness about Down Syndrome across Kenya. Affiliated with the Ministry of Health (Division of Non-Communicable Diseases) and the Ministry of East African Community, Labour & Social Protection, we work to ensure that individuals living with Down Syndrome and their families receive the support, understanding, and opportunities they deserve.

At T21 FSO, we believe that no family should walk this journey alone. We provide a safe and welcoming space where parents, caregivers, and individuals can connect, share experiences, and find encouragement from others who understand their journey. Through our programs and community initiatives, we promote early intervention, access to professional guidance, and inclusive support systems that help every child reach their full potential.

Our work is powered by a dedicated volunteer committee, alongside the generous contributions of partners, members, and well-wishers. Together, we are building a strong, informed, and compassionate community that celebrates every milestone and embraces every child.

Our Programs

At T21 Families Support Organization (T21 FSO), our programs are designed to support, empower, and uplift individuals living with Down Syndrome and their families at every stage of their journey.

Family Support Program

We provide a safe and supportive community where parents and caregivers can connect, share experiences, and receive guidance. Through this network, families find encouragement, understanding, and practical support from others walking a similar path.

Early Intervention & Medical Support

We promote early intervention by encouraging access to healthcare professionals, therapists, and special educators. These services help address each child’s unique developmental needs and support their growth and well-being.

Awareness & Advocacy Program

We actively create awareness about Down Syndrome to reduce stigma and promote inclusion in society. Through campaigns, education, and community engagement, we work towards building a more informed and accepting community.

Community Engagement & Events

We organize events and outreach activities that bring families together, strengthen relationships, and provide opportunities for learning, interaction, and support

What is Down Syndrome?

Down Syndrome is a genetic condition that occurs when a child is born with three copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two. This extra genetic material affects how a child develops, both physically and intellectually.

Children and individuals with Down Syndrome may experience developmental delays, learning differences, and certain health conditions. However, with the right support, medical care, and early intervention, they can lead healthy, fulfilling, and meaningful lives.

Down Syndrome is not an illness — it is a natural genetic variation. Every individual is unique, with their own strengths, abilities, and potential.

It is symbolized by the colors yellow and blue, representing awareness, inclusion, and celebration of diversity.

At T21 Families Support Organization, we are committed to creating awareness, promoting acceptance, and supporting families to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to thrive.
